Financial Crisis Prediction (A Machine Learning Apporach)
Financial crisis is not a common occurrence, but still throughout the decades crises
have occurred. Every time a crisis has occurred, it has left the world devastated in
its wake. A major example is the crisis of 2007-2008 the effects of which were felt
in the gulfs. Tell-tale signs of a crisis are sometimes right in front of us, like
decreased economic activity due to rising inflation. Financial analysts and
scientists have tried to study and most importantly predict the financial crisis. Due
to the advancements in technology, financial analysts have deployed techniques
like artificial neural networks to try to learn the pattern in every crisis and use that
information to predict the next crisis before it happens. Although these models are
not 100% accurate these models like machine learning and traditional models like
linear regression can give us a good warning indicator for a crisis.
