An Optimization Model for Multi-Period Production Planning And Scheduling

In the project, mathematical modeling was utilized along with linear programming techniques to develop and solve a production and planning model for multiperiod plant.This optimization model is designed to maximize resource utilization by efficiently scheduling labor to meet production demands while minimizing several cost factors. These factors include temporary labor cost, the production cost of goods and inventory cost associated with any leftover items after customer demand has been satisfied. Further,it also aims to minimize the penalty costs associated with unmet demand. By monitoring labor requirements, product needs and production constraints, the model ensures optimal resource allocation.
