Mental Mechanism For Learning Linear Algebra In APOS Theory Perspective

This study investigates the challenges faced by undergraduate mathematics/computer science students in comprehending key concepts of linear algebra, such as matrices, determinants, vector spaces, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, linear transformations, and inverse matrix methods. Through the lens of the Action-Process-Object-Schema (APOS) theory, the analysis of written questionnaire responses and interview data sheds light on the difficulties encountered in constructing a robust mental framework for these concepts.
