Smart City Traffic Management System

Many factors and initiatives make a city smart and secure for the public. Out of all these ideas, the Smart City Traffic Management System is an important one. Traffic Management Systems (TMS) are critical to reduce accidents and save the public time. As more and more population is moving towards the cities, that's why the number of vehicles is increasing every day. A vast increase in traffic is a significant challenge for the evolution and formation of any smart city. By implementing SCTMS we can improve the safety of individuals, save time, and reduce congestion. The Smart City Traffic Management system will also help authorities to Manage traffic flow, define traffic routes, and ensure the safety of citizens. To do this, the SCTMS will be an intelligent system that will collect real-time traffic data by the use of cameras. The machine learning algorithm Yolov8 will detect and track traffic. The signal control algorithm will control the signal on the base of congestion in lanes. The algorithm will provide the best possible solution to manage traffic. The system will use a database for real-time data storage.
