Unsymmetrical Faults Detection in Three Phase Transmission Lines

Electric Power System is divided into three main systems (Generation, transmission and distribution).Transmission lines consists of number of conductors that carry power from one place to another place. During these transmissions we encounter different malfunctions and unavoidable incidents which are named as "faults”. These faults occur due to many reasons including lighting, wind damage, aircraft colliding transmission towers and birds shorting lines. And in Pakistan most common faults that can affect power system equipments are Line to Line, Line to Ground, Double Lines to Ground and Three Phase Lines. To overcome this problem we will built a prototype in which our circuitry will detect faults and will automatically disconnects supply to avoid large scale damages. At first we will implement this system on software (Such as Proteus or ETAP) and then will move towards hardware.
