There is a long-standing academic-industrial divide in Pakistan that still restricts innovation, employability, and technology transfer. Thousands of graduates and research projects are generated in universities every year, but industries cannot find a way to access the relevant knowledge or research-based solutions. Research indicates that insufficiency of organized cooperation systems impedes economic development and sharing of knowledge (E Abu Sa'a, 2025). As M. Zheng (M Zheng, 2025) points out, digital platforms have been able to promote academia-industry research alliances and create new productive quality forces to promote industrial innovation. AICON (Academia Industry Collaboration Network) is a digital platform that is a network for entrepreneurial innovation that links universities and industries together. The web and mobile interface enable the industries to post real-world problems, internships, or research and development needs, and the universities to respond with research proposals, innovations, or student teams. The platform includes intelligent collaboration, communication dashboards, and intellectual property (IP) and confidentiality governance templates. Structured collaboration ecosystems prove to be valuable, as it can be seen in the developed countries models like (ConPEC) and (JAIP).
