MouthMuse is an AI-powered personalized oral care startup that aims to improve toothpaste selection through intelligent dental analysis and sustainable product development. The project addresses a common consumer problem where toothpaste choices are often made through advertisements, habit, or guesswork rather than actual dental needs. MouthMuse integrates a QR-based recommendation system with a YOLOv11-based AI detection model that analyzes dental images and recommends the most suitable toothpaste variant according to the user’s oral condition. The model has been trained on more than 5000 dental images and is capable of detecting visible dental issues such as stains, discoloration, gum-related conditions, and calculus with promising early-stage performance. Based on the analysis, the system recommends one of three specialized toothpaste variants developed under the MouthMuse brand. In addition to personalization, the project also focuses on sustainability by utilizing recycled eggshell-derived calcium in toothpaste formulation, supporting a circular economy approach. MouthMuse aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being) by promoting preventive oral healthcare and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production) through sustainable material utilization. The project combines artificial intelligence, healthcare innovation, and eco-friendly product development to create a smarter and more responsible oral care experience.
